Power Steering fluid leak. Please Help?

For the past couple of months I've noticed a small loss of power steering fluid, but in the past week it has gotten worse. I have put at least 2 bottles of fluid in this past week. I have looked on the ground and it looks like as soon as the car is parked all fluid leaves the reservoir. Could this be the pump or hoses causing this problem? I have also noticed a leak coming from the hose near the fire wall on the passenger side. (Sorry couldn't find a picture)

Thanks for your help.

When I originally did the search on this i didn't notice the thread from another org member. I have since read the thread and see what the issue is. Sorry for the repost.

Is the lower hose the one that runs from the borrom of the reervoir (closest to firewall) to the PS pump? Thanks.

Check the upper "high" pressure hose. This one bolts to the firewall, and there is a foam insulating sleeve around it. Pull this foam back and see if it's wet, if it is, you'll need $140 and a couple hours of free time. There are other threads on the install/replacement of this hose.

Do you generally replace the reservoir when you replace the hose(s)? This was standard procedure on my bimmer, but German plastics tend to be more brittle than Japanese ones, at least from my limited observations.

Had the same issue on mine, replaced the high pressure hose and now, almost no leak. Cost $300+. I also added a conditioner-leak preventer on the power steering fluid, stopped the slight weeping of fluid on connectors. Keeping fingers crossed.

Guys,

A few months back I had to replace the high pressure side hose on my power steering pump. I ended up topping of the reservoir with power steering fluid, instead of ATF fluid. So know I have this brown pasty (oily) substance leaking from somewhere the steering pump.. Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix in addition to just replacing the pump and flushing the fluid? Thanks

P.S I have pictures but can not post them due to newbie limitations

Adding power steering fluid instead of ATF should not have caused a leak. It may be unfortunate timing that the 2 things happened so close in time.

Photos would be nice... can't you just type the link in? I don't know exactly what restrictions newbies have.
