Who makes the best exhaust?

I am considering mods to my ride's (2k2 SE) exhaust, as are many others out there. Who makes the best product? I've been on this site long enough to know a few of you have opinions. No names of course.

So is it GReddy, HKS, Stillen, etc...

What's up? Over 50 views and I can't get anyone to post an opinion or preference. This is crazy. This is the second time I have tried to get some ideas. When I post later because I hate the exhaust I bought, don't me!

are you looking for cat-back, just muffler, or y-pipe?

Get the Greddy full catback system when and if it becomes available for the 2k2.

ehughes, I noticed you are in Houston as well. Where were you planning on getting the exhaust at? I talked with the guy at Carboy and he said the Greddy Evo will/should fit the 02. He gave me a price of $580 plus tax which includes installation. Not to bad a price since the GD on Custommaxima is $499 for the Evo kit.

Since it seems that there isn't any parts for the 2002 yet, I was thinking of having one made custom from some previous contacts in the performance business - actually there in Houston.

I was going to have them make an intake and exhaust/y-pipe/b-pipe setup for the Maxima - with Dyno results as well.

By the way - I have always liked the sound of a Borla muffler. They have that deep "bite" but without being whiny and harsh like many aftermarket exhausts.

jefferdy1 and Phatguy...

Where is this guy in H-town located? That is a setup I would consider. I would go all the way on the set up if I did not sound like a Pro-Gas car! Maybe a HiFlow Cat in combo would be beneficial? Other posts on y-pipes have not convinced me to add a y-pipe. Ideas?

Carboy is located on Bissonnet by Hwy 59. You can also check with Hocus Pocus (on Bellaire between Kirkwood and Boone) to see what they would charge.

Let us know what you decide to go with on your car. I want to do some kind of exhaust improvement but I don't know what to do first? Y-pipe or cat-back system. Carboy said the Stillen Y-pipe should work on our car too. They can get it for $380 + tax and $80 to install.

Re: Who makes the best exhaust?

Do you want a big growl or a quiet exhaust?
There are those that say that a custom setup is best.
There's an interesting article in the current Sport Compact Car about having a custom exhaust made. May be worth a read.
