Aftermarket steering wheel

Has anyone replaced their stock steering wheel and if so what did you replace it with?
I am looking at this nismo steering wheel
and wondering if it will work
as it matches the new interior I put in perfectly.

That's a lot of money to replace a perfectly functional (and already attractive) Maxima steering wheel. And I actually have no insights what-so-ever into this topic...

...except to say: your 2-tone seats and door panel inserts look freakin' awesome!

It doesnt appear to have radio controls and cruise function. I know aftermarket steering wheels don't usually have them especially a functioning airbag, but why not just go with a sparco or momo?

No it's not legal to have a steering wheel w.o an air bag. At least in NC. Aside from the fact that if you're going to replace it i'll assume your car is pretty fast if you're gonna blow that much money on a steering wheel.. Hence concluding no air bag+fast car= NO!

Luckily this one does have an airbag. I think it'd match perfectly, as for the fitment.. Idk many people who have ever replaced their stock 5th gen wheel... and even a "deal" on a $650.00 steering wheel is ALOT of money... imo.. invest in something else..

might only cost me a couch and love seat he was going to buy from me anyway, if we can get it to fit. waiting on the info from the company see if it will fit and what kind of deal he can get thru his shop.

we can fit all 350z steering wheels on our car...and IIRC 240s as well.

In fact come to think of it, I believe nissan uses the same steering hub size across the board

I would double-check about that having an airbag....genuine NISMO parts tend to be disproportionately expensive and your stock steering wheel + airbag probably would cost more than $650 at the dealer (the airbag alone is over $500 IIRC)....

Also, since when does a NISMO product have the regular Nissan hamburger on it rather than the NISMO emblem?

What if you removed your stock steering wheel and took it to a leather craft shop to have it re-wrapped in black and gray? It would be expensive, but probably far less than this nismo wheel, you'd retain your airbag and electronics... and you'd end up with something totally unique.

The wrap on the factory steering wheel is in 4 sections. If you had gray in the left and right sides, that would look darn close to this nismo thing.

Since you seem willing to spend over $600 on a questionable replacement (which I personally think is looney toons, but I'm not you), perhaps that idea warrants some research?

the man raises a valid point and i think that what he says is something that should at least be considered. who knows you might end up with a cheaper match and still look as good or better than the nismo steering wheel

Research the idea into other forums. Expand your search nation-wide for the right shop, and work an insured, next-day-air shipment scenario into your plans.

So with all the exclamation points, I'm thinking... you're pretty happy, right?

The 2-tone is opposite your original intent, but you also didn't spend a fortune.
