new jack w/questions

what up people new to the site, just wanted to say theres ALOT of good info up in here!

Looking to do a few more mods to the 2k GLE since the wife and I just made the last payment on her 04 Max (no more car notes). Im not new to the car mod game but not trying to get back into it as heavy as I was before.

My question is suspension, found some G35 18's for a sweet deal ($400 needed 2 tires) and was wondering has anyone just dropped the front of there 5th Gen and on WHAT?

I like how the back sits stock on the 18's and would only like 1.5' drop @ the most on the front. Im thinking about blues and H&R's fronts (can you even buy just fronts springs). I know coilovers is the WAY, but @ $800++ it aint gonna happen!!

It was my turn to get the new car but in these times we just gone hold on to what we have and isnt it almost time for the new AE version of the Max for 2011?

current mods:
G35 18's (235/40/18 Kumhos)
GAB w/K&N
clear side markers
Ipod adapter (the best mod so far if you ask me)
8' power bazooka tube (sounds decent cant boom with a car seat in tow)
PIAA head & fog lights and fog rewire
debadged
street scene grills

Furture mods:
1-1.5' front drop
02/03 HID headlights
Stillen front lip

Im just wanna keep the Max undercover!!

1. There is more to suspension than just a "drop." If you just want it for looks, get some Blues and H-Techs and call it a day. If you want to handle well, you'll want different struts, springs, and other suspension components. Coilovers are NOT necessary.

2. The search function works well here. Use it.

3. There is a suspension/brakes subforum here. Read the stickies.

4. Front-only drop is never a good idea. Don't mix and match springs unless you know the rates and have calculated how different mismatched rates will effect the car.

and since I'm feeling charitible:

2000 Max with Tokico illuminas and Eibach pro-kit springs, and G wheels. If you don't want to do anything more than springs and struts, this is the setup I would suggest as the best combo of ride, handling, and looks.

does $600-$700 sound about right for Illumina & Eibach setup?
