Starter Grinding

When I turn the key to start my car I get a grinding noise as if the teeth on the starter are not fully contacting. I had the same issue with my 4th gen but that was after a new starter was installed. I have had my 5th gen for 2 months and I have never had this problem. It doesn't happen everytime I start it up and it doesn't only happen when the engine is cold. Is this some sort of sign to change the starter?

Haven't checked the battery. I'll jump on it.

i had a very similar problem, the dealer replaced the starter because they said it was over-engaging. The new one fixed the problem. whats the mileage on your max?
