vafc help !!

I installed my vafc II yesterday. I got it used so I just splised the wires and wraped the wires onto the ECU wires. Of course cutting the MAF wire and all the good stuff. Splitting the wires that needed to be 1cm apart also following the thread on here.

Now my car when I hit the gas hard hesitates. Why? Then it will get up and go. Do I need to get pins to hook the wires on or does just wraping them on ok? Throttle is reading on the vafc and all. Did I do something wrong? Its set to 6, up arrow and 1.

I went through the exact same thing with my VAFC-II, actually, two of them. I never resolved it but it must have had something to do with the harness connection, either the MAF connection or TPS connection (I used the APPS instead of TPS). Are you using pin 73 or 83 for the TPS?

My sensor voltages all checked out fine and the units were set to 0 correction, re-initialized, everything but had the same symptoms. The one thing I didn't change was the harness, which I should have tried to re-install. I even sent one of the VAFC-IIs to Deckdout2 to check and it worked fine on his car.

All the best getting it worked out.

When I had my VAFC-II issues, Matt was actually in town on business and was kind enough to spend a couple hours with me trying to fix it, but we didn't have enough time to get some good data logging done to isolate the issue.

i am using 83. should i change it to 73 just to see the outcome?

and did you ever find out how to solve this problem? im going to try 73 later this sunday. if that fails, what other route did you guys go to get yours to work?

did you connect knock sensor wire? if so, remove it.

also, put sensors to 04 04 in settings.

And by "wrap", did you just twist the wires onto the ecu wires? I would use splice connectors...

Aren't these things used for tuning? Any type of gains on a stock motor?
