off/on front vibration

Occasionally my steering wheel and the front of the car shakes when going around 70 mph. The shaking is very noticeable. The weird thing is that the vibration goes away after a few miles of driving. As an example: My wife and I got on the highway to head to dinner tonight. The car vibrated like crazy cruising at 70mph, and then it went away completely after about 5 minutes. On the way home the car didn't vibrate at all...very weird. Any thoughts?

vibrating at certain speeds is usually caused by unbalanced wheels. have a reputable tire place check it out.

This is after the fact, but when you pick up four new tires ask the shop if they have a plan where you get free rotation and re-balancing for the life of the tires. That makes things much easier.

Ya this exact same thing happens to me almost every time i go for a drive. Sometimes the steering wheel is shaky and sometimes it isn't, its completely random and i got the tires rotated and balanced a week ago. All of this happens from 60-75 mph. I hope i dont have a bent rim
