Sunroof Problem

So here is my problem. Was washing the car yesterday and water leaked in from the back seal of the sunroof, driver side only. This appears only to happen when there is pressure, I don't know if it happens when it rains cause I only noticed this problem this week. I tryed pooring water outta a bottle onto the same area and nothing happened, but when i did it with the water hose, it leaked again.

Doing some research on here I found a link about an allighnment issue that can be fixed with shims, but it was to fix wind noise. I do not have any wind noise, just water issue. But looking at my roof today I noticed that the part that water comes in by is more down then the front of the sunroof.

Do you guys think that if I add some shims just to the driver side it would fix the problem? Right now on the rear of the sunroof I have 4 shims on each side, so i was gonna add a 5th just on the drives side where it leaks.

Thanks for your help guys!

I have this same problem but I also hear wind noise coming from my sunroof too. I dont know what the fix is but I believe people have said to and or remove shims till problem is corrected. I have not picked up any shims from the dealership yet. My sunroof sits lower in the rear than the front. I dont know that this helps you much but sounds like we have same problem. Please update your thread and let me know if you have any success.

So here is my update. i was able to find in my garage some thick plastic that could substitute for shims. After trying about 2-3 times adding and removing the shims the freakin bolt did not want to screw onto the screw anymore. Its not like I forced it in the other times, it went on perfectly fine with no trouble. The first coule threads on the screw were f****** up! At this point i was like oh sh**. I found another bolt, which was not the same thread but I had no choice but to force it on. In the end I closed everything up and tested with a water hose and there was no leak on my sun visor. Water did come in but went straight to the drains as it normally should.

I think the problem is fixed even though i damaged the screw. I think the only way I could fix that problem would have to be to change the glass since the screw is built into the glass. I saw someone selling a used glass for about $350 PLUS $150 shipping, crazzzzzzzy!!! Next car NO SUNROOF!!!!! lol
