Is this a dead battery or something else?

F*cking figures. Put the key in the ignition, turn, car doesn't start. Nada, nothing. Lights are dim, and when the door is open there is nothing more then an incessant CLICK-A, CLICK-A, CLICK-A from a rapid firing relay behind the speedo.

Please tell me this is just a dead battery, otherwise I am seriously going to f*cking off someone tonght

Jump it and see if it starts. Then take a voltage meter and check the battery.

Yes, clicking is battery. Hence, why your lights go dim.

Dead battery for sure. The question is why? It's probably just an old battery but you may have a draw. You have done a lot of electrical work on your car.

I have 3 different LED arrays in the trunk which will provide an abnormally larger draw. They are wired in parallel for a higher output, so you can toss your LEDs are lower argument out the window.

But yes, symptoms are of a dead beat battery.
That's funny, I have never seen deadbeat used incorrectly, but I suppose you can have the honor of that crown.

Take a volt meter to check if it has any charge.
Pulling out of a'ss, check.

Next, you can jump it and hopefully it will start.
So can I jump it if it's totally dead? What if it has a partial charge. PLEASE, MASTER, I AM SO CONFUSED.

Next day if it doesn't start anymore after jumping and running it for a day, buy a new battery.
So even if it's at its zero point, I should jump it and run the car all day? No offense, but that's A LOT of gasoline. Can I maybe run it until it stabilizes at 12V?

You have left me with more questions then answers. Fortunately, while I was simply looking for the 'ol yes/no answer, you've gone an opened my eyes to a means of testing a battery I never imagined possible. THANK-YOU, OH OMNIPOTENT ONE - you will absolutely be a vital asset to these forums and it leaves me in awe as do how we did not survive without your presence.

just jump it and take it for a spin on the interstate for 20 minutes. if the battery is no problem, it should hold the charge and enough to start the engine. otherwise, dead battery.
