Ebay HID kit....whats good?

So I am thinking of buying a HID kit for my highbeams on my 02 max. I want a reliable kit. that will work for highbeams just fine. I will be installing this kit and just dont know what one to buy? I am rather new to the HID seen so I dont know to much yet but am and have been reading and learning.

Is this one to cheap?
It also says only for use as low beams does that mater or is that more of a law type of thing?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9005-...Q5fAccessories

Now before you question me I do a lot of country driving and dont want to repeat past experiences with deer.

thank you

I'm with N3985 on this one too. Help support the .org and check one of the group sponsor deals. I grabbed a set for my headlights on my 01, got the kit quick and was impressed with the quality, chrome ballasts and water-proof connections ect so the day I put them in I ordered a set for the fogs too... Check out the group deal section, you should find some good stuff there.

You guys need to realize the days of high quality, low quality HID kits are long over. Now one manufacture produce roughly 90% of the all the kits in market, all just differently branded.

So buy it wherever is cheapest, just make sure the warranty is upheld i.e. buy from a forum sponsor vs random eBay seller.

put better incandescent bulbs in, because the hids take time to charge up so if you want to flick your brights, they don't (plus that can be bad for them)

I usually dont have to flick my brights it seems from the comments I have been getting that eveyone is concerned about flicking my brights at people but waht are all of you guys jerks or somthing. I flick my brights all of basically never!!! maybe once every 2 months.

jake

my only concern with the install is making sure that their not to high for a good level. I havent checked yet but can I just adjust the bulb as an individual? or is it the whole headlight assembly

you cannot adjust the bulbs individually, only the whole headlight.....if you drive in a rural area and you want bright highbeams then get hids, just don't burn retinas of oncoming drivers

like someone above said most HID kits are made buy the same company who supplies all the sellers, there are exceptions but those kits are much more expensive and considering you get a good waranty from seller it doesn't make sense to pay that much.

If you do decide to buy both the forums and amazon have better prices then eBay, YMMV.

so if 90% are made by the same manufacturer why are there one that look good enough for 20 bucks and some that look the same for 60 on here?

if you can find an hid kit for 20 bucks get it, if it's a real HID kit and not halogen bulbs with blue coating.

look at the shipping price again.....reading comprehension is your friend

Recently got 5000K Hids from Hidextra in the sponser section. Nice kit and easy install. 5,000K is a nice bright white light.

Two suggestions, although our cars don't need a relay, from what I've read it is good to get one to protect the stock wires. Also, avoid anything above 6,000k since they are too blue and put our less light!

Like everyone else said, 90% of all kits on ebay are from the same manufacturer, I've been through about 15+ pairs of bulbs(not complete kits) within the past year and there is always a color issue, fitment issue, or not lasting issue. So I would suggest a well known brand like Philips, McCulloch, MTec, DDMTuning/APX brand, or someone that sells a kit for $70+ with very good feedback. Most 6000K bulbs on ebay that are really cheap in price turn out to be 5000K in appearance so be careful.

If your HID bulbs fit in something that isn't D2S, they're trash
If your HID bulbs have "AMP" leads instead of a D2S connector, they're trash
If your HID bulbs don't say "Philips 85122" or "Osram Xenarc" or maybe "General Electric" on them, they're trash
If your HID bulbs are 6000k, and they don't say "Philips Ultinon", they're trash

I agree, but I wasn't talking about factory Xenon, I am talking about aftermarket HID's for the gentlemen that wanted opinions on Ebay hid kits for his high beams.
