Sorry to keep bringing this thread back. New motor is in but window rolls down fast and up SUPER slow. Does that mean I need a new regulator?

 

Have you tried greasing it up? I think the metal rail part of my regulator had some corrosion on it which I think had an effect on the sliding. So cleaning off any corrosion and obviously greasing it up with some lithium grease should definitely help.

Some people have also mentioned spraying the weather stripping with silicone or wd-40.

 

Thanks for the idea. I tried the WD-40. I'll clean and grease it next chance I get. Hopefully that works.

If you are dealing with the window being too high to get at the bolts you can always undo the bolts holding the regulator in place and that allows you to tilt the whole shebang so that you can get a socket in between the door and slider.

 

Good thread. I'm having problems with my driver side window also. It has worked intermittently for several months and sometimes I would have to bang on the door or open it and slam it and it would then work. Always rolled up really slow though. And, if I went up and down several times in a short time span...it would hardly work.

Anyway, today it stopped working completely..with the window in the down position. My question is:

If I disconnect the 6 pin grey connector (pictured in the thread above) that is clipped to the door frame....and apply 12vdc to either the solid blue or solid green wire (1 lead from 12vdc battery to either colored wire and ground the other lead coming from the battery)...the motor should work IF, the motor is good?

Sorry for my stupidity but I am trying to figure out if its the switch or regulator motor. Thanks for any advice.
