Stock Alarm & Security Issue

Ok so ive done a bit of searching but i cant seem to find anyone that has/had the same problem as me
I bought my car a few months back without the alarm remote and the seller told me that it broke.. i figured i would just buy the remote and re-program it and have it working like normal but when i tried to do so it wouldnt program
Thats when i took my car to a electronics shop and the guy told me that the car is not supposed to "beep" when the key is not in the ignition and the door is open.. Ive checked my friends cars and once i removed the key while the driver door is open the beeping would stop but in mine it doesnt..
Mr. electronic said he would have to take apart a lot of things to fix this problem..
Of course now im thinking maybe i can do this myself.. when i lock the door with the key the security light stays on for a few seconds then begins to flash..

can anyone help me out with this issue?? any input would be appreciated
thanks in advance

ok to make it more simple.. the does that constant beeping whenever my driver side door is open and its not supposed to do so
its only supposed to do that when key is in the ignition and the driver door is open
this seems to be whats stopping me from programming the new remote i bought

Sounds like an ignition switch sensor gone bad. It is somehow stuck in the position in which detects the key being inserted and that's why the beeping sound all the time, whether the key is physically in or out. Also is interfering with the programming of your remote because is not sending the signal of the key going in and out, which is a crucial step of that procedure.

I meant to refer to some kind of sensor that detects when the key is in the ignition; I don't know if there is an actual part called "ignition switch sensor". I do know that there is an "Ignition switch" located in the steering column but I'm not sure if that same paart is responsible for your problem. I had to replace mine on a previous car for different symptons than yours. Did Mr. Electronic mention the name of the part or parts involved in his fix?

yup ur right.. did some searching nd theres no actual thing but my guess would be that it has something to do with the ignition switch itself.. and Mr. Electronic didnt say which part was involved in it except that he would have to take apart the steering column
do u think a anything else can cause this?

Could be fuse? That would be easy to check, always check easy stuff first.

The "sensor" he might be referring to that detects if your key is in the ignition should also make a "click" sound when you pull the key out of the ignition. Also, when key is out the ignition hole should appear to be shut. Then the pressure of you pushing your key in moves it over and this is what closes (and clickes) when you pull the key out. I hope its not a former stolen car??? If its bad you will have to replace the whole igniton switch assembly, and have ECU reprogrammed with new key fob and the whole nine. Just not sure if this is the problem on not.

It makes the "click" sound when i pull it out but i never looked at the hole to see if it shuts. but i guess since it makes the sound then that means dat it shuts and its not a former stolen car because the title isnt salvaged
but now that we kno dat it clicks does that make the ignition switch assembly good?

With your driver side door open, can you lock the doors using the lock button or will they pop back to the unlock position?

The key has to be in the ignition to perform this test, as info.

I actually meant for him to try it with the key out of the ignition. He might have a physical problem in the ignition area, nothing to do with the keyless entry relay.

yes if he takes the key out of the ignition and it senses that the key is still in when he locks it using the switch on the door, it will automatically unlock all doors thinking the key is in... which means bad sensor.

it does exactly as you guys say.. when key is out of the ignition and i try to power lock the doors.. all four door locks pop open
i believe this happens when the key is in the ignition also but im not 100% ssure

this means that its reading that the key is still in the ignition correct?

same thing happened to me.
but in my case the car had an alarm with a broken siren so i never knew wen it was activated and then my wouldn't start sumtimes till i played with the remote for a while.
problem was the old alarm i was using as a keyless entry had wires broken and the whole thing was a mess since it was old. your best is to get a new alarm installed like i did cause they will clean it up and re wire the whole thing.

Try to watch ignition switch when you take the key out,You could be turning the key too far forward or back when taking the key out.Make extra sure taking the key out that the ignition switch and key are in the off position.I had that problem on my 98 se worn ignition switch.I put up with that same problem for months and that was all it was.
