Maxima with 99kmiles, I get SES light . The code list says Thermostat for the 2001 or if it's a 2002 the same code is throttle relay. Anyone out there have experience with this?

 

Yes its normally the thermostat sticking open. Watch your temperature gauge I'm betting it rises to normal operating temp very slowly.

I just got this code and my thermostat was stuck open. I replaced it and now the car comes to temp much faster. Its a fairly easy item to change look in the 4th gen how to sticky for how to change the thermostat.

 

Thanks for the tip. Yes mine does take a long time to come up to temperature so I think you nailed it. BTW, you said to look at the 4th gen sticky's but I thought 2001 falls into the 5th Gen. Which is it? Thanks.
