random issues with the maxima...need help

Hey guys,

I have started hating my maxima. it has 154k on it, and everything is going wrong. cam sensor bank 1 went out, Bank 1 sensor 2 went out and on.

the car has been burning gas like no other, i got the codes 1147, 138, 011 and another. Car performance has been trash, full tank getting me around 259 miles...which is pathetic.

Changed out cam sensor, and O2 will be fixed tomorrow. Out of no where, cam sensor 2 is now showing up as out. One of the codes says there is a timing over advance or somesort. I changed the oil at 151k. Im going to change oil tomorrow as well.

This stuff is getting pricey, and idea why all of this going out at the same exact time?

Thanks !

After reading a couple other threads, I wonder if your multiple-sensor issues are not all related to a bad ground. Either that or the CPU is wacked out.

Do some research on Grounding Issues and maybe that will help.

re

hmmm...now where are the main grounds ? I havent had any work done on the car...i might just unhook the battery for a while and see if that does anything. I had the CEL erased, and it was fine, driving fine too...but once it came back, mileage, performance everything sucked.

Car also has a high clunking noise...seems like its because of the cam sensor or so.

I am pissed at my car.

I've heard of similar issues happening with other types of cars, chasing your tail replacing sensors with the problems keep coming back. A friend recently had to get an engine harness replaced after spending many hundreds of dollars replacing sensors as the codes kept popping up. Wouldn't hurt to have the harness checked out...
