Yeah, I'm not too big of a fan of grille tech honestly...the majority of the grilles are polished/ugly. I'm looking for a meshed matt-black grill with some sort of fiberglass housing surrounding it, like the to aforementioned grilles in the title.

I thought about this a long time ago, and think it could look pretty good. We do have a big grille opening, but if it had a fiberglass surround like the AT grilles, it might sway me away from the painted OEM look.

-yeah, I've wondered before why there don't seem to be a lot of aftermarket grills for the 5th/5.5 gen... I just don't like ANYTHING I've seen. I'm really just a fan of the OEM 5.5 gen grille. And yours DOES look really good painted like that... I wish my car was black... sigh...
P.S. - Is that a dummy in your profile pic zero2sixtyZ? cuz if it is, I totally did that once in high school... friend had one laying around from a movie he made or something and we put him in the trunk just like that and drove around... dumb I know... but yeah.. haha

I wondering if Active Tuning might be interested in producing something. I know they're grilles are by no means cheap though, haha.

Which one? The AT type grille option or just painting the OEM?

Thank you, and no that's not a dummy. That is genuine me. I was installing the Illumina caps on the strut towers and my buddy closed the trunk on me and took pics.

Yes it is painted, but there is no substitute for a professional body shop painting it. I've painted many grilles before and they either chip and/or won't come out as glossy. Save the $ and get it painted pro.

Yeah, that has been a considered option, but it just looks tacky to me with out some form if fiberglass shroud around it...just to finish it off. I've seen a couple 5th gens with just the fencing on it, and it either looks wavy or tacky or doesn't settle in enough. I don't know, but the AT grilles are a world of a difference from this.
