P1800 code and NWP VIAS Plate
Has anyone gotten the P1800 Code after installing their block off plate?
For some reason I got this code? Do I still need to plug in the VIAS connection?
I doubt that is the problem, since the whole point is to eliminate it correct ?
Anybody have pics ?
Thanks

oh...is this by any chance a transmission code?
I know the block off plate resulted in a "ghost" code in my car related to the tranny...yes, Im sure. It says tranny but the shop where I go pulled up the diagram on the comp and it leads to the intake manifold for some reason

yeaa i believe so. Are you getting a CEL lit up on your dash? Basically I had a bad o2 sensor so my mech. scanned it and there was a "ghost" code also related to the blockoff plate. On the scanner it comes up as a transmission code but on the comp. it says it has something to do with the solenoid.

Just make sure the Vias solenoid is still plugged in. Zip tie out of the way if you have to.

Thread from the dead...
Custom VIAS Block off plate installed before NWP started to make them.
Have had P1800 ever since. VIAS solenoid is still connected. Could these mean solenoid is actually bad and any thoughts to if this would send bad signal to ECM causing driveability issues? I have not eperienced any that I know of...

While we're on the subject of codes. Not to go OT, but I figured I'd do this instead of starting up ANOTHER code thread. Anyone wanna help me out with a P0123 code? I know what threw it...it's a TPS code. Something about "TPS 2 circuit high input."
The car runs fine, idles smoothly, not high or low...
I just installed my headers, so the only thing I can assume is maybe I pinched a wire or that the connector got dirty. Any thoughts?

^^^ perfect picture Rochester, it says it all ... OP clear your code and make the necessary correction to your setup, and you should see no more code ... I also have a custom block plate and have the hoses capped off and the solenoid & vacuum tank still in place hooked up. No codes

Thanks, Jim. Full disclosure, however: it's not my picture. I added the text labels, yes, but it's someone else's engine bay. Haven't personally done the VIAS delete yet. (May 2010)
If it were my picture, I wouldn't have hand drawn those circles in red.

I have upper intake plugged as well as both solenoid openings capped. Still get P1800 and pending P1800. I have a OBD-II code reader and Palm Pilot and have been clearing this code for over 2 years. Well since I've done the mod.
I also removed the vacuum tank as well.

My understanding is that one can safely remove the vacuum canister but must leave the solenoid hooked up and cap off the two hose connections on it as well as cap off the hose connection on the IM to avoid any P1800 codes ... have you checked all your connections for any possible vacuum leaks?

And (probably based on loaction - Ohio), I have to replace the rubber caps every 6 months or so because they dry rot and crack. I reset the CEL and the P1800 will come back within a short drive even with new caps.
These are purchased from auto parts stores for this specific purpose yet can't seem to take the heat...
...argh...
