Megan OE-RS vs Cattman: Anyone tried BOTH?
Megan OE-RS vs Cattman: Anyone tried BOTH?
Currently have the Megan, and the highway drone drives me (and Her Ladyship) nuts. Around town, no issue, for me at least.
Has anyone changed from the Megan to the Cattman (or vise-versa), and can comment on the sound difference?
I'd like to retain SS piping and mufflers for longevity, but if I have to go to stock style for noise reduction, I will. I don't mind a bit of rumble, but the drone is no good.

I'm surprised there would be any drone if you have no other "major" modifications. All I can say is when I had the cattman catback on the car before the headers, the only time I noticed it was a bit louder was going up hill
The axle backs themselves for the Megan and Cattman are virtually identical in terms of fitment, looks and sound (tone and volume). I've had both combined with a Frankencar b-pipe. They both drone slightly under 2500 RPMs, most straight through mufflers will unless you have a good (big) resonator.
I think the cattman resonator is a little bigger. I know someone who had the megan axle back and needed a resonator so I lent him my cattman that was waiting to go on the car. It was too big.
even with a y pipe on my 02 i could barely hear cattman c/b
I have megan catback and drone was not bad at all. I then gutted my precat and now the drone is very evident not real happy with that but Im sure this is the case even with a header as well.
