Nothing. A GLE auto is just as fast as a auto GXE. a manual GXE is just as fast as a manual SE.

Please don't start it again... Depending on how much gas you have in the tank, all of them weigh the same.

an intelligent reply

the SE has a stiffer sportier suspension. That's the only technical difference.

have a glass of water. Manual GXE should be the fastest of any stock Maximas. GXE is lighter than SE by 200+lbs. The handling, however, is better in SE. Think of GLE as of a Buick Park Avenue for old ppl.

It truly comes down to the driver. I can walk on 5th gen 5 speeds with my 4th gen GLE automatic, and they have the same or more mods than I do. It truly comes down to driver ability. I guarantee that someone would be able to run the sme times with a SE than they would with a GXE.

I wasn't comparing 4th gen to a 5th gen. More than that, I wasnt comparing manual to an auto. My only point is that GXE weights less then any other trim. And 200lbs sometimes make a difference, thats we hear ppl take out spares, seats, and run on empty gas tank. No beef here.

A bare bones SE weighs about 20 pounds more than a GXE.

If I'm not mistaken, the gxe also has smaller tires than the se. I don't know much about wheels, but don't smaller ones aid acceleration?

Depends what you have on your GXE and SE. I am comparing bare-bone GXE with a bare-bone SE. You have more standard equipment on SE that adds to the weight.I think it is more than just 20 lbs. Anyone knows for sure?

AHA!

I found the difference.. wheel size.. width more specifically

the stock GXE's got 205x65x15

the stock SE's got 215x55x16 tires

SO.. that extra 10 mm could mean a couple of seconds on a 1/4 .. in theory the 215's should be able to grip a little better

...I'm not quite sure about who makes the stock rubber on the 15's also.. but that could matter the stock proxes with the 16's have tolerable grip... the taller 15 makes me think it's more something in the lines of a touring tire...

stop rolling eyes, you paid thousands more than I did, and manual GXE is faster than manual SE!

Handling is called handling, performance is performance, not quite the same thing.

For equal equipment the gxe is a little lighter so acceleration could be a little better. The biggest difference is in stock wheel/tire combination - the gxe has non-performance tires and the assembly is a little lighter - better acceleration (not counting wheelspin) but poorer cornering, however, considering that people go aftermarket anyway that difference disappears. As far as the ecu - the only difference would be if there is a top speed limiter because of the speed rating of the stock tires, this seems to be on some cars but not uniform - should be 112 for S, 130 for H and 150 for V.
