i hear/feel my clutch pedal squeaking...its annoying but is it bad?

like the title says i hear/feel my clutch pedal squeaking or rubbing or grinding i dont know what it is. the best way to describe the sounds is if you take two pieces of hard plastic/rubber with rough surfaces and rub them together (i know but that is the best i can come up with). Its not impeding my shifting ability or anything and the clutch goes in smooth (as far as I can tell) its just the weird noise thing .

I might be over paranoid because i just lost my car that was mechanically sound. is this something i can throw a little WD-40 on and call it a day or is there a better solution.

Thanks in advanced.

B

Many of my older cars had that. It could be the pin on the hinge or the pedal spring causing causing this sound. To solve it, simply spray lube such as WD40 directly onto the pedal spring or the pivot pin. It should go away, depending on where the squeak is coming from.

If the flex line or the slave cylinder is going bad, it can/will make a wierd squeaking noise. Mine did it not too long before the slave went out. I replaced the slave cylinder and replaced the flex line with a stainless-steel braided line. Fixed the squeak.

I've had to spray some lithium grease on my clutch pedal spring many a time. Works great, just when the squeak comes back, crawl under, cover your face and spray onto the spring.
