P0420 code.....
P0420 code.....
While on my way back to school, the damn P0420 code popped up and I went and got it scanned and you guys know what it is...so my question is that I was going to get a 02 simulator to kill the code, my question is do I need a dual output or single output? I have aftermarket headers and ypipe and I have a Fed spec.
i cleared the code but the damn thing came right back after coming back from the track yesterday..I know that I need a single output and now i just have to dig up the directions for installation.

So i can basically use this guide but only sim the sensor that I need? which wire is which for the P0420?

how do i determine if the 02 sensor is working good? the code really didnt come about until i put the headers and ypipe on. I also added a resonated test pipe so I dont know if that had any effect on it.
If you got the code when you put your headers/pipe on then the P0420 is not from a bad sensor. Plus if I remember correctly that's a primary O2 sensor so if that goes bad your car may run poorly. Single output O2 sim is like $20 so it's worth a shot.
you have to unpluged it and test the resistants on the sensor..
Resonated test pipe has no effect.
