Ball Joints Question

Quick question about ball joints. On a 2000 maxima are they riveted or simply pressed in?

You may want to do some checking into pricing for new LCAs. May find comparable to a new ball joint and labor to press them in, and less hassle.

As others have said, they are pressed. If you don't have a press, which most people don't, usually AutoZone or Advance Auto will lend you a ball joint press. I borrowed one from AutoZone when I had to replace a ball joint on my 2000 Maxima and it worked like a charm.

Don't really see why you'd go for a new LCA unless yours is damaged; 20 minutes per side to press the balljoints in/out, another hour to replace all of the LCA bushings.

Thanks for the input. I would go with new oem LCA assemblies (kinda expensive too, about 160 bucks per side last i checked), but, the bushings on mine are still in good shape and i wonder about the quality of the oem balljoints in addition to them being ungreasable. I can get a set of moogs for 80 bucks at my local advance auto, which IMO, are of better quality than the oems. Have been very pleased with the quality of moog over oem for other various suspension parts (sway bar end links, inner and outer tie rods), so i would assume their balljoints are of the same caliber. If not, please enlighten me.
