missing the actual front cigarette lighter assembly

so yeah,.. there is just an open hole next to the hazards switch that i can stick my finger all the way through,.. completly missing the female port 'if you will',....

which kinda sucks cuz i cant really plug my gps or radar unless i use the rear one,..

and yes.. i took it apart and there is just one end of a harness/connector in there,.. so im thinking,.. there must be a part i can buy that has the harness on one end and the plug on the other,.. can anyone shed some light on this,..

i checked courtsyparts.com and there is a bunch of parts that range from 10-30 bucks with no pictures so i have no idea what to look at...

Try checking a scrapyard for something like this. You can probably get for a couple of bucks.

Good thing the only thing missing was the cigarette lighter for me, which I picked up at a Harbor Freight for $1.90.

I can't find 5th gens on local yards either. For a couple of bucks, I would venture to try if one from a 4th gen will fit there, though.

They would probably be identical. At least I know the diameter of the lighter is standard.

Guys, he doesn't want the lighter element, he wants the actual socket the lighter plugs into. If I'm reading it right, his is actually missing.

Once again, look here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/maxima-...1996_2000.html

That was exactly my point with the "Huh?" comment above. My car has the socket with a cap that reads Power Outlet and I have a small tray to the right of that which I use for coins and such. Wasn't sure that cars came with lighters anymore, even if as an optional package.

Didn't you look at that Courtesy diagram? Section K, Part 25330+A

Even when I was a smoker, I didn't smoke in my car. Too smelly. Haven't smoked in 15 years... still miss it.
