exhaust leak

hey guys......................i was driving and noticed my car sounds a little louder then usual. I found the leak right where the axle back bolts on. Everything is original with 83K miles on it. I was thinking to install new gasket but not worth it. Should i get a whole new cat back or just an axle back. I am not looking for a loud performance exhaust system like cattman or megan, like to keep it like OEM. Def not going the stealership.
I searched an noticed most the members are going after market like cattman.
Not sure if the you tube is accurate with the noise level.

Thanx

youtube gives you an IDEA of what it MIGHT sound like. Everybody does there exhaust differently, from headers to mufflers and everything in between. If you want louder go with the megan with a free flowing open muffler. You can get them pretty cheap off of ebay. If you want a really good sound tuned for the maxima, and have some extra money, look into cattman. Cattmans products are excellent, where as something like OBX or megan may need some additional modifications.
Good luck

Go too Napa and go with Bosal Oem replacement or fix your SIMPLE problem! I've had awesome results with my Cattman Headers, catback and Oem muffler! Stealthy and sneaky fast!

I am going get a OEM cat back replacement.....................is there anything i can do in the middle with the OEM muffler to gain some sort of power and a little bit of noise; all i know is getting a test pipe but not sure if its worth it.

If it rusted through after the rear flange, than all you would need to do is replace the muffler. If your trying to gain power than u should look into upgrading to 2.5" piping. I had the same problem as you (Damn northeast winters) I opted to buy the ebay catback for the mandrel bent 2.5 piping, and will eventually swap in a different muffler. And as for a test pipe, many people vary in opinion. Most will say the factory cat is very free flowing as it is, while others will claim they see gains with a testpipe.
Hope that helped.
