Auto Tranny Fluid Question

Hey guys! Do you use the same fill and drain holes for tranny fluid in the 5sp and Auto? I am about to install a tranny cooler using the write uo and just wanted to cover everything. Thanks again.

Filled is the same hole as the stick... drained by removing a plug underneath the tranny.

I would recommend Transmission Filter job as well, if your mileage is over 20K on Original ATF.
I thought the filters were maintainence free?

While you're in there, install a bottle of LubeGuard. This stuff is great and the tranny will last longer and shift smoother.

Most good tranny shops have this stuff. About $15 for a bottle.

I'm so glad you guys are talking about auto trannys, that additive he talking about you can get in MOBILE 1 SYNTHENTIC ATF where I live it cost $5.99 a bottle I think the changing of ATF fluid requires about 9-12 quarts(bottles) but the stuff works i had a 94 altima with a leaking rebuilt tanny and the moblie fluid leaks slower than regular ATF and when it had completely leaked out the tanny still did not slip

Actually the name brand is LubeGard (http://www.lubegard.com/automotive/index.html) and it is good stuff. It is an ATF supplement. I have used it in my auto trannies and you'll feel the difference. They recommend the Automatic Trans Protectant (red bottle) for the Maximas.
You can find it in your local NAPA store.
