not plug and play...,..the sensor plug is different and the maf mounting point in terms of how the sensor sits is differennt,..
not sure if you can splice it in with the 6G maf tube,.. but i know we have the IAT in the sensor where i dont think they do.. not sure though...so if thats the case you shouldn't even be able to wire it in...
what i can say is that you can salvage your IAT off your 5.5 sensor.. and buy a stronger 2001 sensor (~100 shipped) and DIY the IAT into the new sensor...there was a recent thread about it with great pictures.. prob only a page or 2 deep..
and FYI- replacement OEM 5.5gen is ~400 bucks..

It feels like this thread is muddying things up, which is annoying because all the MAF threads and comments over the last few months had done an excellent job of bringing clarity to this issue. Particularly ridinwitha35's and MIK3's recent threads, and 2slow's experimentation with a separately purchased thermistor for the IAT. There was fantastic info there.
And what the heck is a "performance MAF" anyway?

I wasn't aware there was an aftermarket MAF for the 6th Gen. Which begs the question: why isn't there an aftermarket 5.0 and 5.5 gen MAF?http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...v-exposed.html

yeah.. if you look in the 6g forms ther is a review about it with a few members with testimonials..they all say they felt something for the most part..i think chernmax started the thread..i think jet makes one for the nissan titan too and you can google search their forms

There is no such thing as a performance MAF or any other instrument. Unless the performance version provides greater resolution or update rates, which doesn't apply to a MAF.
The JET MAF may have a slightly different relationship between airflow and voltage. It may give a slightly different voltage curve (than stock) at WOT which causes the ECU to run more ignition timing. The same (or better) result can be had through proper dyno tuning; tuning would then also remove all value from the modified air flow to voltage relationship.
Just purchase a 2K1 MAF; search for part number 22680-2Y001 at everythingnissan.com as it can be had for $77.69 without shipping/taxes.

ya, not much info, lot's of butt dynos but no definitive proof. But I guess it doesn't matter since they don't make one for us. I'm pretty sure that the bolt pattern on the 6th gen MAF is different than ours, and the sensor shape and bolt pattern there is different as well, so even if it coould be wired up to our setup, you would need to have a different setup on the car. IE no stock airbox, you would need a WAI with a new maf adapter

BTW, shipping charges apply; but still, great price.

That's the one I'm using, albeit I purchased mine from DaveB ($83.36). I should have said not including shipping/taxes rather than without; shipping should be less than $10.
