My blower works on the 4th speed setting exclusively after I got it back from the shop a week ago. They replaced the oil pan. Would this be a resistor issue (and where is that located?), or should I just replace the entire blower unit?

Mine only messes up in winter. Summer it works fine, No knock.
I'll just swap it with a 4th gen one whenever it goes out.

If the blower works one minute, then cuts out, then works again later (on any speed) could it be the resistor is shot? Can't find it in search..

thanks

^^^You're probably better off changing the entire blower motor. I had the same problems like e-sub---noise only on certain speeds, when turning left, and during the winter. I got mine off of eBay for $48 shipped a few months ago. Install took about 10 mins and it still runs nice and quite.

Doesn't make any noise...that is the only reason I am thinking it's the resistor..or Module assy-power...etc...

finally found another thread with the same problem I am having...gonna replace the resistor first...

Thanks

hey guys, I'm having an issue with my fan as well. i've been searching all over but to no avail. The problem I'm having is my fan is on constantly, stuck on the highest setting and blows through the vents at the floor with my climate unit off. By the way i have an 03 max se auto and the climate control is the digital one. when i turn the ac/heat on it works fine but it would blow only on the highest setting. when i turn the unit off..the display goes off..but fan stays on.. i checked the fuses and they're ok. Is this a resistor issue too? any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is an interesting thread; when I first got my 2002 Maxima I noticed there was a noise like the fan hitting something when my a/c was running. This usually happened on higher settings but I had no clue what it was. To my surprise the noise went away completely one day and hasn't come back since. It is good to know what was causing the noise in case it comes back, I'll be sure to buy a replacement off ebay or something when that times comes. Thanks for the info!
