WELP!!! When it rains it pours....... yesterday at 2:30pm driving home from work yesterday I THINK. I blew my motor... after crusing at about 65 going home I all the sudden heard a noise as if I got a a flat in my tire, looked in the rear view mirror to see a puff of smoke n some particle flying away, I thought it was a flat and got pissed and decided to drive it home still (3 minutes from home) but what seems confusing to me is when I tried crankin the car it never even tried turning over... just a click and that's it????

color of smoke? and hows your coolant levels?
reason I ask is i had a cracked head in a car a few year back and didnt know it. blew a rod and had the same issue a mini explosion white smoke and a bit of the honeycomb from my muffler shot out the tailpipe.

Have you changed the oil yet?

Could be a blown headgasket if you have white smoke coming out of the exhaust and the oil has milky deposits in it.

^^^what everyone else said, check the oil, if is milky, its a headgasket. weird that it would just let go crusing at 65 though..

hope you got some cash to pick up that 6spd thats 5k in the classifieds now!

If the HG let go...

...how about a low mileage VQ35 with some S1 knockoffs, RevUp Oil Pump and ARP rod bolts...

RevUp cams?

I looked all winter for a set on my350Z/G35driver.com, couldn't find a set. If it comes down to me, putting cams in, I wanna go with something more aggressive anyways.

Dam the luck!!!! Now you can get busy and build a real motor to reach your 12 sec dream.......How many miles? See if you can turn the engine with a breaker bar @ the crank (clockwise).....Check your block for holes just in case it threw a rod! Dam dude!!!!!!

Yea ill be heading dow by the dealership where the car is today to finally clean off the snow, as I had no ways of gettn down there.... 12's is possible without internal work on the engine I'm sure.... this is still my daily so this process will be slow and thought out as I'm not pressed to break 12's moreso the 13.3 set by jime (granted his canadian air mod)
