Hey guys, it'll be a few more days till I can get around to doing the write-up. It's raining like hell in Nashville, and I don't really have a garage to work in, so I have to do all my work in my driveway unfortunately...that and my plans for this weekend are to install my headers, so hopefully by sometime next week I'll have a chance to get some photos.

honestly as long as my fogs are more yellow and brighter than the next guys, without blinding people, im happy. the stock HID's output plus hiid fog lights output is more than enough for my needs. **** a cut-off...its not like theyre projectors or anything

There are some misinformation in this thread.
In the aftermarket H3 HID bulbs category, there are THREE types of bulbs.
1. Regular HID bulb with H3 base ~2.5" long
2. H3 mini ~1" long as pictured by stereodude
3. H3c looks like a halogen H3 bulb
Technically the H3c should work best because it mimics the beam pattern of a regular H3 bulb. However there is a difference in beam pattern of a halogen vs HID arc so some might feel bulb option 1 or 2 works "better".
For 3000K HID bulbs, 95% on the market are yellow/green, 5% are the golden yellow most want. So far from personal experience the only golden yellow is from operatic the forum sponsor, but you must add $5 IIRC for the custom yellow option. DDM is the yellow/green, and I would suspect most eBay kits are too.
Lastly the DIY steps to install one of these kits have been posted before, search around. But be sure to do the install right the first time and use a relay harness, which can be bought for $15 on eBay (just search H3 relay).

Edit: Oh yeah, I picked up a set of OBX V2's. I was planning on pulling the manifold, I just need to find a gasket. No way am I going to pay my Nissan dealer $35 for the upper plenum gasket...

I bought two kits for my friends, one 4300K 9006, one 3000K 9006. The 4300K from day one was mismatched in color, one looked 5000K. One of the 3000K bulbs burned out in 3 weeks. It wasn't installation error because I have been installing these for a long time now.
One of my operatic ballasts blew a couple yrs back on my ex's car, e-mail to operatic = hassle free overnight replacement ballast, with paid envelope to send bad one back. HIDextra had the usual coverage, send us back the part ($), we'll review it (time), then send out replacement (more $).

HID kits are HID kits, 99% of them come from the same places in China with different labels i.e. brand. Therefore don't let the name sway you one way or another because technically the kits are all the same. Important thing is service/warranty, which operatic has proven to me to be the best thus far. The kit for your fog will be PnP wiring wise, however due to the design of the fog light it's is best you make some mods so you can re-use the factory cap.

Honestly if I had the luxury of a big round fog lights like on the 5/5.5 gen Maximas, I would retrofit in a pair of H3 projectors then add an HID kit to that. For example if you fit the 6th gen Maxima's H3 projectors in, plus an HID kit, you literally could just drive around with those on only. Projectors are much better at light output than any reflector system.
But to answer your question, the bulb type doesn't really matter *that* much, true H3c (the baby ones) don't come in 3000K, so you will definitely receive either the H3 mini or regular H3, both will work fine.
