WRX fever!

Just sent in a request to a local dealer via CarPoint for information on a Blue or Silver WRX 5spd. One of my friends just picked up a lowered orange 2000 1.8t GTI with stainless exhaust and I'm kinda liking the small sports car feel right now. Hmmm, I'm sure that this fever will wear off when I start to talk numbers but for now, I'm starting to feel butterflies in the stomach...

I'm starting to like the 255HP 6spd thing and am taking a test drive this Friday, but I'm sure the numbers will discourage me too...along with my damned right knee boucning off the wheel and dash board

Why don't you just get a max and remove the whole center plastic thingy? Put cloth over it so it won't look so ugly.

Why didn't I think of that?

Seriously, you can probaby come up with something so the center console won't get in your way.

If the wheel was telescoping I'd be fine. And if I chopped my legs down by about a few inches I'd be fine too. Or yeah, I could just take a chainsaw (or a dremel on testosterone) and chop out the whole center thingy to clear out some space

Did we successfully thread-jack this topic yet?

I want me to own a Max too

Can't buy one if I can't fit one, though. I'll try harder.

Tried that.

Wheel all the way up. Raised and lowered seat height. Went to pimp mode (seat back tilted very sharply). No deal. But 6spd and 255HP could "encourage" me to fit better

Hope it works out for ya SteVTEC! Who knows maybe the telescoping steering wheel will be enough to make it comfortable for you. Either way at least you'll have the chance to enjoy 255 naturally aspirated HP's during your test drive.

Seriously, though. I'd regret buying now if in 1 or 2 yrs they release a Gen6 Maxima that:

1) Is not horribly messed up.
2) That I can fit into much better.
3) That still has a stick option.
4) RWD??

Nissan is on a roll (Alty, G35, Z, etc..) so I have high hopes for the Gen6 Maxima.

If they screw it up (I doubt they will - Nissan has a lot of momentum now), and there are no other alternatives, then I'm sure I'll be able to find a used 2k2 somewhere
