Belt Noise

Belt Noise

Hey guys .At times I notice a sound by the drive belts...like a sheeeeeeeeee sound or something like an old school printer printing paper...Do they need to be replaced or is it some other issue?? I dont notice it all the time though

Belt tension. Adjust it. Maybe loose.

i have the same problem, i searched.....and if you already changed your belts they are loose. if you haven't check them and change if needed.

same here, same problem after i had replaced mine. They are loose bro. just find that sweet spot and tighten it there.

While running, adjust your belt tensioner. Until you do not hear the noise. Do it slow. Nice and easy.

Note that you have to loosen the 14 mm bolt on the idler then you can turn the bolt to adjust. Once done, tighten the idler bolt.

I screwed up on this. Now I understand how they strip the strut hat bolt.

can't create a new post

since i can't create a new post hopefully this will work. I was changing my belt with my neighbor when he twisted the belt tensioner until it snapped and broke the tensioner. My question is,

will a 04 tension fit on on 03? I found one for sale but it is from a 04 maxima.. i know the model changed.. any help is greatly appreicated

Sorry to steal post, but I replaced belts (no thanks to Haynes manual) which was a pain in my a$$.

They were squealing before b/c stretched... Now, it sounds like I have a supercharger...
The main drive belt is louder... Sound coming from front of motor.
120k on car... Do I need a belt tensioner or are my belts too tight?
They DEFINITELY aren't loose.

You can try adjusting the tension while the car is running and see if noise goes away.
