Took the 03 Maxima on a trip to Louisiana with the 3" Catback installed... 2200-2400 rpm is pretty loud on my 03 A/t....Throttle sensitivity with tip-in throttle response I'm still measuring, but 70 maybe 72 mph on up is definitely more responsive to throttle tip-in...jumped from 70-120 mph really quick....I was impressed with it's WOT/part-throttle response from 3000 rpm on up.....That's where the dyno charts showed that 25 whp/25 wtq gain,....and I can feel the acceleration and the pressure on my backside quite a bit more..... but I'll be taking actual measurements with the Gtech to measure 50-70, 60-80, 0-100, 0-60 mph acceleration rates @ Wot and part throttle (using a block wedge attached to accelerator pedal) for more throttle position accuracy during testing....

Yeah, I think all those videos that had me drooling were yours! (shakes fist) I really need my exhaust, cuz I'm in the middle of a header install and I had to remove the stock cat/cat-back due to breakage/rust. Oh no! Aside from being obnoxiously noisy, would it hurt my car to run open Y-pipe for a week till my cat-back gets here??? Anyone know?

You mon't make a week b4 you get a ticket! You can't fit a pipe there temporarily, til you recieve your new 3" catback? I'm sure you can cut the pipes and expand them to insert a new temp section....can't you? Go to Pepboys or Autozone and get some cheap A$$ TUBING AN FIX YOUR NIGHTMARE til the good $h!+ comes in.........

Next batch may be the this week?

If I understood correctly, the next batch should be the end of this week at the earliest. Mine should be inclusive in that as well....Smiling with anticipation....

It would be nice if everyone that got the exhaust posted up a video to lure people into buying them! I want to see what it sounds like without headers.

I can do that but not right away maybe later on today or tomorrow. I got my headers and y pipe in but haven't had them installed yet. Just the catback & intake is installed.

So has anyone heard any updates on when this batch is shipping? I'm gettin antsy! (I'm just in the process of rigging up a temporary pipe so I don't have to run open Y, cuz I had to cut the old rusted cat w/ flange off... Wow, that's loud!)

Moral of the story: Wait until you're prepared before you cut anything! I'm sure you were impatient to get those headers on, but had you waited for the catback you wouldn't be so antsy

Yep. I've installed a BBmaf with no tuning (was a bad idea), and gone through no less than (literally) 10 different exhaust setups on my Maxima because I was too impatient to save a little extra money and get the right thing the first time. I could have a custom true dual exhaust and body shop modded bumper for dual mufflers for all the money I've wasted on exhausts because of my impatience. Oh well we live and learn, right? At least your impatience will just torture your ears and make your neighbors hate you instead of torture your wallet!

Yeah, true... but I have a problem driving it like that, cuz it makes me feel like it's hurting my car (even though i know it's not)... It just SOUNDS like it is haha. And I'm getting a 1-2 gear slip at WOT only (on my 4AT), so I want to change the tranny fluid before I drive too much. I really really hope I'm not gonna have to get a new tranny.

Yeah my least favorite thing about open headers is that it's so noisy it sets off the knock sensor and I get 100% false readings which sucks! Other than the head-pounding drone, that is.

Yeah... When I used to go open Y-pipe at the track, my car was the absolutely loudest car at the track unless one of those 8-9 second NA monster V8s with no mufflers was there. It's a little embarrassing on a 12-13 second car, haha.

Yeah once it gets at just the right RPM around 22-2400 with a little load, it feels like your ears are being permanently damaged. They probably are... I could barely stand it driving around at the track and tuning on the street with open Y, you might be stuck like that for 10 days or more if you don't come up with a temporary fix!

Yeah, I rigged up something today. It's pretty crappy, but it lowers the noise quite a bit. And yes sparks, definitely when you put ANY load on the engine, it feels like it's damaging your ears. Haha, when I was driving around my house, I'd shift into neutral every time I passed someone who was outside cuz the sound is ridiculously embarrassing. I can't bloody well wait til I get my cat-back! Then I'm gonna detail her up really good. I'm gonna clay bar (never done it before, and really want to try it) and then try that Meguiar's NXT 2.0 wax stuff. I hear good things about it... but all of this hinges on the arrival of the cat-back...

Yep, allowing for completion of fabrication, overnight (or weekend) shipping to me, packing them all up individually (they're arriving with a batch of 6th gen y-pipes that also need to be processed), and the possibility of a day or two of slippage, the next batch of 3" catbacks should ship out individually around Wednesday-Thursday of next week.

As it works out, all are sold already, so we're already taking orders for the next batch!

lol congrats. i have the injen, will be doing the work that deckedout did to drop it in the wheel well. along with that ive been powdercoating everything matte black. The intake is already black so it would save me the hassle (The one on cattmans site ) as well he has it listed with the JWT with the beautiful non turbulent neck. lol alright velocity stack.
but that intake would keep my pcoating cost down...im looking to go with a 3inch maf shortly and theirs is listed as the perfect diameter for what i was looking at lol.

cool thank you. just wanted one that wasnt in the compartment. Was kinda sold on sticking it in the wheelwell ....silly i know...im picky...just dont want to go from the 3inch stack to the 2.75 pipe 3 inch maf 3inch then tb if i do go that route. still deciding i have two weeks...but if i can get mr. catts to knock one out when he does his next batch of WHATEVER and send it out, it should hit around the timeframe i get back from afg.

Just have my heart set on it since i saw decked's and want it in a complete 3inch back.

Just know ahead of time that you'll have a hard time finding 3" ID piping, 99% of what you find when you get "3 inch" pipe is 3" OD, from there the thickness will tell you ID. But really 73-74MM (thin piping) vs 76MM isn't that big of a deal.

So according to my guess-timations. I should have a new exhuast in about 10 days-give or take....which means I have to start installing that lil stack of parts I have accumulating...

It is if you put your MAF sensor in there.
