im tempted to do a stock dyno run, my car is not modded yet. its a automatic 3.5, then when the 3 inch comes in gofor a dyno run then.

LOL, i didnt actually plan on modding this car at all, i was working on a project ive had sitting in my garage for a year and a half, built motor, big turbo built tranny. and after finding out the motor i got was junk, i stripped the car, called the scrap yard and had them take it away. Now lurking around on here, i am getting some ideas just to get some added power and keep it a daily driver, i will only have the car for a year or so, then its getting handed over to my step daughter once she gets her license...maybe

My first dyno was w/headers only, but it would have been nice to see what the headers did on their own.
That we do. Thankfully Nissan just released the Infiniti G25, so we all may have a project car at hand. 210HP with about 195ft/lb, RWD, 2.5L engine. Should be the next big thing for people who love working on their cars, especially if you have a little money to burn.
A lot of money is wasted on dyno evaluations that end up being meaningless (even if the car owner doesn't realize it).
Since the whole point is getting an accurate measurement, hold off on the baseline run until the day before the installation. When you take the car off the lift (after install), drive it for a few miles and then do the "after" dynos, making sure its the same tank of gas, same dyno machine, same technician strapping it down and doing the runs, about the same time of day, ideally about the same weather (primarily atmospheric pressure).
If these guidelines aren't followed, the before and after results will range from less comparable, to not comparable at all.

Hi Guys, I bought the 3" Cattman catback w/ resonator from Brian last year approx July 2009, ,sorry did not dyno the car after installing it, because the car was tuned & Dynoed the summer of 2008, and installing the 3" didn't change the tune, and I'm planning to tune & dyno the car next summer. Thanks Brian for the Best quality, and I love how it sounds. I took the car in September of 2009 to the track, did couple of runs, and just want to share this video with you guys, to hear how it sounds, and by the way my Et runs were not good in this Video (Traction problems+ slow shifting , not to brake the forth gear, as I did brake the 4th twice, and now I'm waiting on PAR Racing 4th gear to arrive from Australia in a week or 2. In the video also is my Sons Turbo Civic, I hope you will like the way it sounds.

It such a hard decision i could go with the 2.5 cattman pay 599 plus shipping and put the rest of the cash else were in the car or i can bring the exhaust to its full potential and go with the 3 " for $739.99 plus shipping i been thinking about it so much i had a dream about it last night
Perhaps most importantly, I'm not sure when we'll even have any 2.5" systems in stock; everyone with a 5th gen wants the 3" now and we haven't made the smaller diameter system for a long time.
I see you have a 95 and 03, but if this is for the '03, the difference between 2.5 and 3.0 performance is overwhelming. In all seriousness, there's just one logical answer.
We don't maintain the website, so that $599.99 price for the 2.5" system went away a long time ago. The last batch of 2.5" catbacks we made were priced at $679.99. 3" catback systems for the 5th gen are just $739.99 with our backorder discount (first 10 orders in every batch), so there really isn't a big price difference.
Pretty surprising given how much more expensive 3" S/S tubing is (compared with 2.5"), the added slip-fit and strong clamp on the rear section, and the other material and labor costs that go up with a larger diameter system.
Hope that helps you overcome your conundrum.

91 gti with a full obd2 vr6 swap, and was going to go with a stage 4 turbo kit from a company i used to deal with at the speed shop i used to work at. fully caged, no interior
I will do that brian, i am good freinds with the guys at the shop since i used to work there. it is about 20 miles from my job now. When i know 100% when i will be doing the exhaust install I will make a post about it and let you know brian, i figure it will give everyone a idea on HP and tq numbers with a stock car, and get everyone who is interested a general idea of gains and what not.

Everybody notices the quality of the exhaust when my car was at a shop up in the air for 3 or 4 days the guy was like yeah all my customers were like a did he get the exhaust from you that looks good!! Then the owner was like you got some parts on your car I'm like yeah I wish I had the headers then they would of been drooling like Damnnn!!
I know cause when I 1st seen the piping I was like F33k that is Big A$$ piping but two weeks later after a good amount of carbon build up it was pretty quit. only on start up a little loud but I always let the car sit for 5-10mins then start rolling!!
If the order hasn't be placed already, give us a call on Wednesday/13 October (we're closed today and tomorrow while I'm on the road). I'm away from my desk and don't recall how many orders are in the file already, but there are already a few, and it doesn't take that many to trigger another production run.

Haven't measured it with an actual db tool but it's definitely less drone volume wise....if I had to put #'s on it maybe 15-30%! Can make it even quieter with application of some hushmat orr the like......
IMO, just a hair less linear with the throttle below 2000 @ 40 or less mph Compared to the Oem setup, 2500 on up it's a bear, beast, nut buster,...... it's freakin addictive bubba! Pulling from a stop sign a little spirited driving then stepping into the throttle about half way while on a 30 mph roll just makes my 245/40/18 tires scream as they break loose....my OEM exhaust system never had that much torque to do that even with the smaller 225/50/17 tires....installing the insert added a little back pressure to my system and made it more linear with the throttle.....

^^^ Yeah. I, for example, don't think I'd use one of these. I was under the impression that almost everyone who is putting a 3" exhaust on a family sedan is more concerned about maximum flow/power than having a quiet exhaust. IMO this would rob at least SOME power (however negligible you think it may be). Just my personal preference...

But, I am strongly considering the cone in order to appease my significant other. I agree about it being a personal preference, but I'd like to see the dyno numbers on if there is negative performance factor.

But, I am strongly considering the cone in order to appease my significant other. I agree about it being a personal preference, but I'd like to see the dyno numbers on if there is negative performance factor.
Of course, some build up is expected. But, don't you think that periodic WOT runs would blow off the majority of the deposits? I would like to think that would enable it to maintain an acceptable level of value added performance.
