Do they have less problems?

I always wanted a car that was some sort of "special edition" lol plus I like the tail light covers and square exhaust tips
Yes, the anniversary addition will be noticeable slower especially if you get an auto one. They do look good although, but stock for stock no comparison accelleration wise its going to feel slow to you especially for you being use to the 3.5 in your 04. The 3.0 is pretty bullet proof although.

I would stay away from the 02/03 TL's they are prone to/and known for transmission failure and many of them have had multiple tranny failures. 03/04 Altimas are cool, similiar performance to the 5.5 gen, downside is the interiors are very cheap (materials) and they tend to rattle alot. They were criticized for the cheap interiors big time, in 05 they improved it a little but not much

Why not consider a Gen 3 ('97-'04) Lexus GS?
3 engine configs in US- 3L I6, 4L V8, & 4.3L V8
The 3L I6 in Japan came as in a Twin Turbo also
(Both I6 versions are 2JZs-The supra engine!)
MT's Import car of the year in '98.
C&D Ten best 3 years in a row ('98-'00)
The interior is incredible plus it's RWD.

Only negative is it only comes in auto transmission,
but paddle shifters are an option.

Worth a look, especially over a TL or Altima.

Gen 3 lexus is 98-05 IIRC..... that wat would be a sweet.... I was looking into one of those but they cost too much... I'm a member of club lexus and the price they want turned me off... 8K+ for a 200K miles 98 GS300 then they make it seem like its nothing... I kno they are reliable motors but id like to put 100K on it also damn it lol

Good car, has the 3.5 you are use to. Interior is decent but not great, good handling, good accelleration. I would stay away from the early 03's (they have that rectangularish box on the trunk lid, as the later production 03's has a smooth trunk without the rectangular box. If I were you I would look for a good deal on an 05 as they made nice changes it to that year including: nicer interior, gauges, shifter, tailights, standard HID's etc. try to find 1 with the sports package as they handle even better and have those nice rims.

An 05+ G35 coupe w/ Sports package would be perfect but theyre too expensive thats why im looking at Altimas and Maximas...the 03 G35 sedans however are somewhat in the price range...i guess i just want something with the VQ35...the Acura and Lexus V6 just dont have the same grunt...

Noticeably slower? Absolutely.

If you want something "special" in a 5th Gen, locate a 2003 SE 6MT Titanium Edition w/HLSD. Particularly one with the special "titanium" paint job. That would be unique for sure. 7 years later, and I still have some regrets not sucking up for that extra 3 grand.

5.5 gens are definetely the best. Front end is much better looking, and small changes to the interior are nice too

It's not like that. 6 Gen is still a beautiful car.

5.5gen>6gen> most other cars for similar price range

If you don't need a back seat, how about a 350Z? They're faster and get better gas mileage, in addition to being a little cheaper than a G35 coupe of the same year.

I've owned a 4th gen and now currently a 5th gen. I think that the 4th gen felt more solid than the 5th gen. Nissan cheaped out on some of the parts in the 4th gen but it seems like they cheaped out on everything in the 5th gen, with the 6th gen being even worse! Quality wise, the 7th gen is back on track but I wish they styled it a bit more sporty and offered a manual instead. The CVT has to go too!

Just picked up an 03 Titanium Edition w/ 100k kms for $7500.

Instant impresssion:
-Handles better than the 04
-Feels slightly slower than the 04 (could be due to a less responsive 4spd auto?)
-Turning radius is not as bad as the 04 and the steering feel is alot better
-Feels slightly less luxurious than the 04 mostly due to the non telescoping/uglier steering wheel and small arm rest
-But interior material quality is better than the 6th gen

overall im very impressed with the car and its alot more bang for the buck compared to the newer maxes.

Im not gonna modify it much, just tailight overlay and tint the windows for now...pics will be up soon...
