MAF Adapter

So I got my MAF Adapter in the mail today...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSA...Q5fAccessories

^^^ That is the one I ordered.

It's for the 03-06 350z, but I know that the 03-06 350z has the same AM600 MAF as me.

Upon bolting it on to the MAF housing, I notice that the inside diameter of the MAF adapter is like 1/8th inch smaller than the inside diameter of the MAF housing.

The listing claims it to be 3" outside diameter so I figured it would work, as this is the same size as the outside diameter of my velocity stack.

I'm just wondering if this will restrict airflow or create turbulence, and if so, could someone point me in the direction of another MAF adapter with the proper I.D.

Does anyone else have this problem?

you won't find a MAF adapter with a 3" id. All piping is measured by the OD

Yeah, I know. What I mean is that even though the outside diameter of the adapter is 3", the inside diameter is smaller than the inside diameter of the MAF housing.

The stock MAF housing inside diameter is 72mm, so 2.83", while the inside diameter of the MAF adapter is more like 2.75", because the walls of the adapter are about 1/8th inch thick.

Basically, I need a MAF adapter with a 3" outside diameter and a 2.83"(72mm) inside diameter.

It's almost like the adapter is built too well and the walls are too thick.

Sorry if this is a bit hard for me to explain

get a vibrant adapter for a subaru, then drill your own holes, the wall is only about 1/16" thick. Much thinner than that and you will crush it with the clamp if it's too tight.

Part Number is vib1994. I use these all the time for my intakes that I make for the guys. There is plenty of room to make the 3x3" hole pattern on the flange, and the original subaru mount holes are well out of the way and won't affect performance.

BY the way, DO NOT buy the one for the nissan. I think it is for the z31 so only 2 holes will match up with the maf

not the best pic, but you get the idea..
