Agreed with nissantuner. If you're going to have the look, I think it might as well be the real deal regardless of price.

This stuff could come in handy when I re-do my interior. I think this wrapped around the plastic on the pillars would be a pretty nice accent in a black and gray interior.

Wtf is the point of faking carbon fiber? The reason you use carbon fiber is to shed weight, obviously this will do nothing except add a little. IMO, carbon fiber doesn't look good because of it's appearance, it looks good because of what it stands for. This is the same as putting worthless wings on civics

Hmm, an exterior vinyl overlay that looks like carbon fiber?

That makes me think of plastic covers glued to your calipers.

Or blocked off hood scoops.

Or fake wheel rivets.

It wouldn't match at all though unless you have dry carbon fiber. The resin makes your hood and trunk glossy, and your roof would be flat. No thanks.

I would gladly fill my interior with real carbon fiber. But I don't feel like dropping a ton on actual CF for my a and b pillars...on top of designing molds, mixing up resin, the processing and curing, etc.

On the exterior, I would never ever use this.

FWIW, The Wizard used something like this on his steering column cover that looked pretty close to the real deal. I remember reading his write-up a while back.

wow for exterior this would be super lame... But interior might not be too bad if you do it right. I was looking at those carbon fibre trim kits but they look cheap and I dont like how they go over the plastic and make it stick out... this overlay would probably look better and more flush with orginal trim

I'm wondering how this stuff would look on the interior with some rattlecan clear coat over top of it to give it a glossy "resined" look. I can imagine it would never survive like that on the exterior in the elements, though...

This pic wasn't on the site last night I don't believe. But by the looks of it, this stuff has the potential to look pretty legit on the interior, given it's not over-done.

You guys have never heard of carbon fiber wrapping? Its just for appearance, don't take it so seriously.

Then clear coat it and it will flow much better.

Either way I think it would all match up better than people who do a black overlay
