Injen Cai air filter is it dry or oiled?

hi, so I have the injen cai, and that time of the year where it needs to be cleaned is approaching and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the air filter that comes with the cai is a dry or and oiled filter? I'm also wondering should I bother cleaning it? I heard some people have gotten the CEL because of it. Let me know thanks.

what color is it? If it's red you need to oil it. I've heard they are using amsoil filters recently so the light blue ones may not need oil.

You can always install an AEM dryflow.....I would play with installing a SRI made of of the factory parts like this to compare the two you'll be surprise how much bettter you engine will respond.....

Holy thread resurrection.

If you oil them properly, oiled filters will not hurt your MAF. All you need is a light coat.

However, the reason you see MAF issues is because people go overboard and saturate their filters to the point where the oil is nearly dripping off.

I went with an AEM Dryflo filter about two years ago. I haven't looked back...it was an awesome investment. I can take it off, blow the dust out of it with an air nozzle, and it's good to go again.

Agree with the above^^

Oiling them isn't idiot proof. The most common mistake is people not letting them dry enough before installing (impatience), or over-oiling to start with. Or both.

An oiled filter will stop more crap than a non-oiled one. Do it properly and all is well

It's oiled but you can substitute it with a DRYFLOW p/n 203 IIRC....Running the entire Injen intake is restrictive as hell!!!! You'll make more power running that Injen with the lower half removed! I held me back in the 1/4 mi.....I could hear the motor bogging down.....Went to a SRI and made way more power....The stock system is actually a SRI with a restrictor filter box.....
