I've been having this weird starting issue with the car for about 6 months now. I got a 03 max auto with about 65k on it.

If the car has been sitting for more than 2 hours it starts up fine no problem whatsoever , rpm's rev up to around 1200 then goes down to the normal 700-800 range.

The problem is if i drive the car for say 45 mins or more and then turn it off. If i try to start the car again within maybe 30-45 mins the rpm's will go up to around 1000 then it will drop down to around 100-200 like the car is about to stall but it doesn't it stall it will just shoot back up to around 900-1000 again and then drop to the 700-800. The car has only stall twice when this has happened.

I have a ses light p1456 which is for the evap cansitor, but i had this for liek 4 years now so i doubt this is causing it.
I also have a exhuast leak near the axle-back pipe. could this be the cause.

The car runs fine and i have no issue at all after the startup. This is really starting to annoy me.

My gf has a 03 max auto to that had the same problem. She took her car to the shop(goodyear) they cleaned her fuel system and it went away, I myself need to get this done. Her car was also under a recall and they changed some sensors but I dont kno which ones.

 

You could try seafoam into the brake boost vacuum line. 2nd thing would be the fuel filter. And the last thing to look at is the MAF.

 

is there a cause for this? I never had this problem until recently so soemthign must've gone bad somewhere.
