MAF or TB?

Let me give you some background info:
I had a 2k maxima last year. I only had it for about a month until some retard rear-ended me and the car was totalled. (I loved this car since it pretty much was the first car I bought with my own money)

From my experience with this car I would step on the gas and the engine would rev very nice and I would be able to feel the G force very strong push me back into the seat. (got this car with 103KM) vq30

So insurance paid me for the total loss and I went out and bought a 2k2 (car only had 73KM)

Everything seemed fine. Car works great no problems just common maintenance ie oil change. no CEL. nothing.

however, with this car (VQ35) I notice that it doesn't have too much pull. I step on gas and the rpm increase slowly therefore I don't have the pull I really want however, sometimes I am able to get this pull. Also, I guess it kind of depends where do I step on the gas pedal. If I step on the bottom part it accelerates slowly (low rpm) but I *think* the higher I step on the gas pedal, it accelerates faster (but this is not the case always) so hopefully it is something simple. Any thoughts would be great. thanks.
