Is the maxima the fastest FWD produtcion car ever?!
Is the maxima the fastest FWD produtcion car ever?!
I have been thinking about this for a while now. If the 2002 6spd maxima can do 0-60 in 5.9 & the 1/4 = 14.3, then is it the fastest front wheel drive car, ever? The closest car I can think of{other then Altima} would probably be a CL/TL type-S? A integra Type R is a bit slower so what else is there? This idea of mine only holds true for the USA and Canada becuase I really have no clue what other country's have to offer.
Another thing, is the 2K2 the cheapest car with HID's? It's definatly the cheapest car with standard HID's that I can think of. I think it's the cheapest period.
Impressive
Some one prove me wrong please!

I think the Holden's are rear wheel drive.
How bout the Cadillac STS? I'm not sure of the acceleration time, but I remember it being fast too.

Yes, those Holden vehicles are monsters, performance wise. I mean, to outhandle the M5??? I read that article, too.
Emax - As far as the cheapest with HIDs standard, I think the Maxima is it. But as for cheapest car with HIDs, or as an option, you are forgetting his little brother (age, not weight or size), the Altima.
Also, apprently it is a little-known fact that every Civic made for the LA market has HIDs. Because last time I was there, every single Civic ahd that blueish light to the headlights. And they come with these big wings and stuff. Freaky.

For fast FWD cars - how about the old Shelby Turbo Dodge Omni GLH?
I hate to say it, but it might be an 85' Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
It could rip the 1/4 in 13.60@102MPH.
This ugly 3 door was 16th on this guy's Fast Ford's alltime list.. The one big catch is that maybe only 500 (homologation cars were built. But that amount technically meets a production value for racing requirements. Although, probably half were sold for street use in Europe.

it still says 0-60 in 6.2 which is slower than the 2k2 6spd.

big deal.. when will you Acura Mag Racers ever learn if you can post a magazine link.. I can post one too thats going to show you my point

so you stop talking.. and check this ..
Naturally, aerodynamics also came under scrutiny. A new chin spoiler and rear wing contribute to a 30-percent reduction in the coefficient of lift and a one-percent improvement in drag. Out on the test track, all this translates to an appreciable improvement in the GS-Rs performance, trimming the 0-to-60-mph time by a halfsecond to 6.6 seconds, the quarter-mile performance by three-tenths of a second to 15.2 at 93 mph, and increasing the top speed by 9 mph to 143.
