2000 automatic differential question

I get this jerking in my steering wheel, very light but it's there when I accelerate see thread:

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...heel-jerk.html

Had the axles replaced recently and that's when it started doing this, had the guy put new ones in again and now it's half of what it was before but it's still doing it a little, not all the time, and gives a little un-easiness in the steering. I took it to my mechanic and he said he's 99% sure it's the differential. Does anyone have any ideas what it would cost to fix this? I am mechanically inclined just haven't done something like this before, is it something that can be done myself? Does anybody have any other thoughts on it? From what I've read it seems that it's the manual tranny's that have differential problems and not so much the automatics but that's just what I gathered from my searches. Thanks guys in advance.

Just bought this damn car and didn't have these problems before the new axles were put in.
