Greddy vs. Megan Catback

My friend has offered me his Megan racing axle back. I currently have the Greddy cat back, and was wondering if it will make my exhaust quieter. I loved my Greddy for a while, but now that I am a little older and want a quieter ride. I would hate to put a cap on my Greddy. Does anyone know how loud the ride would be with the megan axle back with the Greddy cat to axle 2.5 pipe on there be? I still want it to have some nice tone to it. Ive searched and really didnt have any threads that answered my questions. Any sujestions would be great.

Thanks
-TJ

I think GReddy is the quietest IMO, I have the original EVO I, and I only hear it when I accelerate. Has a nice deep tone.

I do like the tone it makes but Its a free axle back, I would hate to put it on and have it sound louder then it already is.

Megan axle back with Greddy res will probably sound gutteral and a bit raspy. It should be quieter than the Evo II, though, considering that it's a chambered design versus glasspack.

Just ask your friend to try it on and ride around to see if you like it.

i had the original Evo2 on my 5th gen (intake and exhaust) and it was really quiet, however im sure if you get a 22" magnaflow resonator then it will be even more quiet... i dont believe the Evo2's followed the OEM bends and connections (or so i was told in my maxima youth days) so you will probebly have to weld... get a bigger resonator, n if you have a test pipe get rid of it for a high flow cause just changing the muffler may not quiet it down much

I have thought about putting a resignator or my evo II, but dont know what to get. I do not have a test pipe. So you think If i switch the two axle backs it would be quieter?

+1 ... If it ends up being too loud (or if it's too loud for you now), get a 22" Magnaflow Resonator welded in. Just search "magnaflow 22" on bay... they're like ~$70

I hate to say it, its not loud for me but were I live is in a town housing with a bunch of old people who complain to the police about it. Not to much fun when the police will actually call me and say we got another complaint about your exhaust (one of my friends is a policeman in town). I have thought about getting a muffler that you can open and close with a button to make it louder and quieter but there like 300 bucks.

Yea I think so too, its not me who wants to get rid of it. I love it, I am so used to the sound of the exhaust I don't really realize its there half the time. Now I looked on ebay for the 22 magnaflow resonator and I couldn't find anything. Any other suggestions?
