I left the company an email pertaining to a 3rd Gen exhaust system as well, and there's been no response whatsoever......uummmm! I'm sure they've recieved it, but maybe the floodgates have burst wide open on them, due to a peak of interest regarding the entrance of a new company making an exhaust system for Maximas at such a discounted price........He's probably hiding out with George W, now!!!!!!!!

So just to clarify, the site states he's located in AZ but his shop is in Miami? I'd even give him a call just to touch base and mention that we would have a fitment vehicle ready.

P.S. After watching BRM exhaust videos online, they do sound pretty good. The 3" videos can be deceiving though as they are all F/I vehicles.

Update!!

I hope he got back to the other guys too but this is what he wrote me:

Hey Stephan!

OK, let me get a couple projects off my plate and arrange for them to come in. I'm ***-deep in a major site revamp, and I'm kinda running on no sleep lately... Bear with me, I haven't forgotten about you guys.

Hey, it's something. Better than an interest thread in the GB section over a product they can't even produce...

If he needs a third Maxima I'm over in Tampa and make regular trips to Ft. Lauderdale, so I'd be interested and willing to let him test on my car.
If it makes a difference my car is 100% stock, so I might be able to provide a good baseline on sound.

Great, I would have probebly said the same if I was stock but I bet 95% the people here is more interested in the sound with headers as I wouldn't hope you will be doing a 3"exhaust without headers

+1.

Me and perk both have headers. And in most cases, if you have an exhaust setup that sounds good with headers, it will sound good without.

Do you guys think its a good idea to ask him if he can produce a test pipe with a wideband 02 bung built in? I've been thinkin about this alot lately.

Can't you just get a warpspeed test pipe and have a bung welded in? the WS test pipe was like 70 bucks shipped or so and they are already making them so it might be easier to just go through them

Actually your right. lol. I'm making things more complicated than what it needs to be.

Should we get a list started of what we want in this exhaust system?

Grand_Hustle17 list:
3" mandrel bending
22-26" resonator (makers choice)
20" or larger body muffler
Tips based on rogeezy's pics are perfect
Big body resonator... that's all
Clearance from bthe bumper only an inch maybe 1.5 inches
I personally prefer the exact muffler like cattman but I can understand why its different...

I don't know about getting a list started. I would just go in there and see what he thinks. I mean if you look at his website they have exhaust systems for a bunch of other cars and apparently are doing a great job on those. So I would just show up let him do his thing and talk to them as things come up vs having this wishlist or list of demands.

better to have a wishlist so he knows what we want than to let him go for it and have it turn out to be no good. Most people on here have the same wished so it should be ok.

1) 3" mandrel bends
2) perforated core resonator
3) dual tip straight through muffler

True that! But I'm not sure if the 2.5" was equipped with header like the 3" er is....but the sound won't change much you just won't here that slight little buzzy vibration sound....On a V6 it will be louder....I have yet to recieve a response from BRM exhaust...I'm going on with my previous plans....It will be civil, smooth, and responsive!

Ok, I'll call......Most car's exhaust can be made in accordance to the bend sheets provided to most exhaust shops from Oem specifations. I'm still trying to decide between 2.25" and 2.5" since my 3rd gen has headers, cams, intake, ignition, I'm sure it handle a 2.5" system....with a 18-22" Magnaflow resonator and a large 19-22" long muffler it should be free flowing with slighty throaty sound but not loud.....

all maxs should have at least 2.5" pipes. a 3.0L engine easily flows enough to find more than 2.5" too small for top end power

I personally don't think you know what I'm running....mine is a 1990 VG30E SOHC V6....It breathes well but in no comparison to the VQ30/VQ35 DOHC 4 valve heads at higher rpm's. I'm sure my VG30's torque is there earlier due to it's longer stroke than even the VQ35! But I found in a no compromise kinda way that the 2.5" exhaust IMO was to big for the VQ35 due to the less than linear tracteability at lower rpms...big gains after 2800 rpm, the mid range was very noticeable as well as the upper rpms.
I'm shooting at good driveability and power so 2.25" is also being considered!

"Hey Stephan -

What years (and generation) are we talking about getting fabbed up?

I want to prep my guys for how much fabrication might be coming their way (so that we can make sure we have enough steel (and space) for new jigs."

He wrote that on May 20th. I'm on vacation tho.
