headlights dnt come on!!! please help
ok guys so i tried the rewire DIY so my HIDs dnt come on with my alarm. tried it and it didnt work correctly, so i rewired everything back to how it was. now my lights dnt come on whether its on auto or i manually put it on. the dash lights come on and the clock dims but no low beams or high beams for both
i checked the fuses and they're all are good, so i went to the relays i got 2 relays from the junkyard and still no lights. (i dont know if the relays from the junkyard are bad but thought it would be very ironic for both of the relays i got are also dead)
i took it to my mechanic and for now i have to put in a paper clip into the relays and they will come on but will stay on no matter what unless i take out the paper clips.
Any suggestions?? where to start??
any help would be great thanks

This same thing happened to me in another car and it ended up being a switch somewhere in the circuit. I am not a mechanic and I have minimal knowledge of electrical systems but would honestly just take it into an auto electrician and have them look at it. I ended up only paying around 50$ for a new headlight switch and it fixed the problem. The problem is there are so many things that could go wrong. I would just take a half hour break, then go back and recheck everything. If you can't find anything take it to an auto electrician. Wish I could be more help.

If your saying that that when you jump the relay it turns ok. Which means that the power to the relay is fine and that the ground on the bulb is also good. my next guess would be that the link between your headlight switch and the relay is broken somewhere. I would look at where you tried to do the DIY. Can you explain what you tried to do?

What you need is the electrical wiring diagram and a voltmeter to check things at various points. Go here and download a FSM:

nope all dome lights and trunk lights and everything works. the clock and my radio dims, my dash lights come on but no headlights, my mechanic said that its either the relay, or a shorted wire from the switch to the relay box to signal it to turn on

Unfortunately it's not that simple - there's SECU between switch and relays so problem can be there as well. If you have a voltmeter and are willing to check signals on SECU inputs/outputs it would be most productive - short of blindly replacing SECU itself.

I know this is old and I do not want to jack this thread but my hid lights and fog lights went out. I have searched and have the diagrams to check the switch. Just wanted an opinion and I can not start threads because of my post count. The parking lights only flash when they feel like it when the alarm is armed or disarmed. My horn also quit working but the relays click under the hood. If I hook 12 volts to the horn it works. I think it is the SECU. What are your thoughts?
