Seatbelt issues

Hi, wondering if anyone has been having seat belt issues where after you take it off it won't go back into it's positition (inside the cover) or it would roll slowly (I pretty much have to push it into the cover) Anyone know a fix for this?

there is a TSB about this, can't remember if it was for all 5th gens or only certain years. It said that the belt would drag and hang up in the plastic part on the pillar between the doors that's by your shoulder. The fix was a kit that basically was a piece of tape that you wrapped over the plastic piece on the pillar and then the seat belt slid over the tape. So I guess you could see how much drag is there whe you pull the belt by hand.

hm come to think of it yes I do think is from the friction (too tight) I may just get it checked at the dealer then.

IIRC, the procedure in the TSB involves sliding something like a piece of dental floss across the bottom portion of the slit on the plastic seatbelt bracket, from side to side, to scrape the grime that accumulates over time. This grime is what causes an increase in the friction, slowing down the belt as it passes through.

The TSB (NTB01-005a) calls for a kit (Seat Belt/Tape Set, Part #87880-79900). The kit has a "D" ring cleaning wire and two pieces of fluorine resine tape.
Here's the TSB:
