ABS light

Hi everybody,

yesterday, I start my car and when I turn the ignition to ON, just after I heard the fuel pump, I heard a strange noise (like if a little motor is running for 2 or 3 second and then stop), and my ABS light turn ON after. Since yesterday, it wont go OFF. I check my brake, everythings ok, my brake fluid is ok... Hope that someone can help me.

Thx

One of your ABS sensor is dead.

Have the ABS codes checked.

Mine does the same thing because I busted a rear sensor when installing wheel spacers.

Ditto

and make sure you soak the sensor bolt with PB Blaster before trying to remove it.

I have read many stories of folks snapping that bolt off.

And no good comes from that.

This is deffinitly a common problem. I reciently broke mine too. I called around everywhere because I'm not really in the mood to pay $100 from the dealer. And for 1 sensor too! Unfortunitly you can't get the damn thing inspected without the light being out.

Snapped the bolt on mine as well, they fit pretty snug however without the bolt so it should be ok. I went to replace mine last year and snapped the bolt then noticed I was sent the wrong sensor (for the opposite side of the car) and ever since I've been running with the ABS light on, no biggie.

That is odd you mention you couldn't get it inspected with the light on, I had originally thought the same thing in Massachusetts but it turned out to not be required and I got it inspected no issue with it on.
