i hope someone can answer this one...

Ok so at cruising speed on the highway i can set my cruise control at any speed, and over the course of a half mile it will start to lose speed and by the time i hit 55-60 mph it will just disengage from cruise control...while it is engaged i can use the coast function but to gain more speed it will not work...any ideas???

I have the same issue. This is my first car with cruise control though so maybe that's just the way it is.

My old 1998 Maxima did that. Hmm...I never figured it out. I would also like to know if anyone found a fix.

Its silly that you wanna relax and "cruise" at speeds over 90mph.

Why not? The car rides really smooth at that speed. My cruising speed is 95-100 when there's no traffic.

I had a 3rd gen and they would develop cruise control problems of not holding the speed constant. The servo unit under the hood that the throttle cable attaches to had to be replaced.

^^^^yeah what the guy above me said or maybe the cruise control cable needs to be tightened by the throttle... it is a 10 year old car anyway

Cruse control Issues

In regards to your cruse control issues that you are reporting. As you know the cruse control has a digraph vacuum pump and a vacuum bladder that actuates the cruse control servo cable. i would strongly discourage you from making the cable any tighter because the play is there for the purpose to cut back on throttle bounce when the curse control is activated. If you want to test the curse control parts you can probably rent a vacuum line test kit from your local auto parts store and hook the test gauge to the curse control servo actuator and see if it looses pressure while it is holding the throttle open. If it looses pressure you just need to get a new actuator.

-Hope this helps
