Car pulls weird on slicks... ?

On my 24.5 x 8.5 slicks the car is pulling on the track to the left. I had an alignment done everything looks good. I just am at a loss for understanding what could be causing the car to pull so hard to one side only at the track. On street tires given they are small 215/45, you can not feel any pull at all on the street. Track is far away and I can't just keep going there to find out that the car is acting weird. Anyone else ever experienced this issue? I am new to drag racing. Could my M&H tires be warped or something? I have brand new steel wheels 15s, if you swap the wheels from one side to the other the car still pulls to the left. I just don't get it.

ummmm..
dont flame me if im wrong...but pretty sure.
but with drags you are sticking to road like never before...
pulling to one side is called torque steer. maximas are notorious for this.

Yes i do have HLSD. If it was torque steer how come I don't feel it on the roads though? I mean I know the friction is a lot more at the track and it amplifies everything. I just feel like something is going wrong lol

I think you're correct. Easy to check. Pull onto some grass, (not yours), And hammer the throttle. Check the spin marks. Then do the same on dry pavement. I'll bet your limited slip is slipping.

geez! that would explain it still pulling! perhaps all the power is sent to one side.

and the burnouts with slicks could possibly wear it out....

I hope its something simple and not that

PM aaron and see if there's a possibility that these will work for the 6 speed, or if there can be one manufactured for the 6 speed.

Perhaps you have exceeded the limits of the oem hlsd with that much hp.

I have a 01 the 3.0l engine with great tires and if I slam the gas my car pulls to the side like crazy.

I don't know about slicks, and (sadly) don't have HLSD on my 6MT, but I always thought torque steer in our cars pulled to the right, not the left.

Is that right, or does HLSD change the dynamics so much that it could be to either side?

a full spool in an FWD daily driven car sounds like disaster

an HLSD doesnt "wear out", its not clutch type like a vlsd

have you experienced torque steer in our cars at all? Ive definitely gone both directions, but on a track you typically dont get torque steer since you arent turning at all. Just my experience

Yeah, that would be a pretty awful choice for a DD

in a straight line without HLSD but tires with good grip, the car will pull to the right like a b1tch

and yes, you get "torque steer" in a straight line

Of course.
That's what torque steer IS.

Certainly. Particluarly after the last few mods, and since I started running with Eagle F1's. But always pulling to the right. While I'm used to it, I imagine there would be a small learning curve for the uninitiated driving my 6MT at full throttle.

This. That's me. When I read the OP's comments about pulling to the left, it didn't compute. Thanks for the sanity check, Sooner.

I guess this is just a luck thing, in my 75+ passes down the track ive never had torque steer, with an open diff

I forgot this was a daily driver. My bad.

But anyways, you have to know when to draw the line between race car and daily driver, once you start to run into these situations, you might have to tell yourself...

"ok, this is the max the car can do in street legal form, let me leave it as is before I kill myself."

OR

"ok, this is the max it can do in this configuration, if I want more out of it, I need to get another daily driver and designate this as my track car."

I'm not saying he should do either one, but there is just only so much you can get out of a car before you have to make it into a real track car.

most likely tire pull from uneaven wear.
rotate tires side to side, road test and get back if pull changes u got tire issue. perhaps thats why it only does it with these tires. Try that before u jump too far

Found that one of the bushings on the control arms is pretty beat up. I just ordered a new arm with bushings since they come packaged together. Should arrive sometime this week or next. Anyone know is nismo still makes that hard rubber bushings kit for the sentra?
