"03" Max!!!!!!!!
Do any of you ever bother to log on to www.nissannews.com? Evidently not. The new generation Max is going to begin with the 04 Max. It will be based on the same platform that the 02 Altima is based on. They had lots of infirmation on the production several months back. I'm sure they will continue to mod the 5th generation until the 6th comes out. I beleive the memo also mentioned NO 300hp V-8 scheduled for that car. That indy 450+ possible engine is very expensive. Keep one thing in mind guys, Fully loaded 2001 Alti, $23k, Fully loaded 2002, $27-29k. I am certainly not planning on paying $36k for a fully loaded upgraded Altima. Just my $.02.
rubman is right, the new Maxima is due in 2004 and will share the Altima chassis. I have been following all of the auto magazines and this is all I could find. No one is sure if it will be rear/front wheel drive as well as a V6 or V8. Most of the new Nissan/Infiniti models wil be based off the Altima chasis: Maxima/I35, G35, 350Z, and the GTR (Skyline replacement). I think it is too early for anyone to say exactly what will come about for 2004. We need to sit and wait.
