01 maxima overheating!

01 maxima overheating!

i have 01 MAX that just started overheating .. i was driving when i got to a light the temp went high so i pulled to the said and my overflow tank did not have water so added water after 20 min there were alil bit lift in the tank...... the car not smokin or the oil is not milky all so my fans work..

how do i know when thermostat went bad?
how do i know when the water control valve went bad?

Sounds like there's a leak somewhere, from your description.

check the radiator for aleak.. u will hear a leak sound after you turn off the car.... also the smell of coolant will be noticeable

Remove and test them.
