Climate control led's

Hey all, just have a led question. I am thinking of doing a led conversion on the climate controls and the guage cluster and I am wondering if I will still be able to use the factory dimmer **** or not. Anyone who has done this mod please help! Thanks in advance

Yes, you still can use the dimmer ****. Out of all of my conversions, the climate control is the worst, especially if you don't have patience. Check my car domain for the leds I used.

Great, yea send me the pics. I bought a bulk pack of leds on ebay. It's like a 20-30pk for like $10-$15, MCD are the brightest ones, and the higher the K, the brighter they are.

LED's

Is it a nightmare taking the dash all apart to get to the bulbs?

The cluster, not really, 2 screws holds the trim and 4 screws holds the cluster. The climate control is just like getting to your radio to change it, 4 screws hold it and then you unplug the harness to get it out.

It's a pain actually putting in the LED's with solder on the board and pointing/aiming them to minimize lighting gaps.

Not saying it can't be done. I did mine with little to no knowledge of what to do. I had a 2k though so the bulbs/boards may have been different. I just remember looking back that it wasn't worth it. Some of my buttons wouldn't depress any more (still worked but wouldn't stay depressed) and the light was nice, but was extremely difficult to make perfect without dim spots.

Parts are relatively cheap now I would recommend purchasing a used HVAC unit and attempting the conversion on that. Any mistakes that are made will not effect your daily use.

Enough Said! There is no way I'm doing this! I'm too ****, if everything doesn't work perfect or very close to that I'll get so irritated I'll end up selling the car. Too bad since it looks cool.

Alot of patience is involved. You live and learn. I burned my electronic board like 5 times since I don't know how to solder. But hey, came out decent.
